Cherish Time

I always tell my 8-year-old sister to enjoy her childhood and play all she want. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that she should neglect her studies but have a balance between the two. There is no need for her to think too much about her future at her age. The reason i say this is because time will pass by fast.

I just feel that my childhood passes by really fast. I remember being a kid, playing my Gameboy in my room after school, Going outside to the playground where i would meet friends and play together, not having to care about my future, major exams and all that shit. Well, you know what? Those days are GONE!

I'm not saying that i can't have fun at this age, i'm just saying that as a young adult, i have to start thinking about my future, studying is no longer about colouring, learning alphabets because they are fun, studying is now for my grades and major exams ( eg. the O levels ) , which will determine my future.

Many kids may think that being an adult is fun, you get to do this and that without being told what to do. Yes, that is true, you get more freedom but the amount of responsibility that adults have is a lot more than they imagine. Being a " growing " young adult, i'm still in the middle of a child and an adult, but that means that the responsibility i have is increasing each time i grow older.

So kids, just enjoy your childhood and just do what you like and what you enjoy because you may never know when your childhood is going to pass by just like that. And DO NOT be in a hurry to grow up.

So...just enjoy your childhood and enjoy that moment :)

What I like About Chinese New Year

The new year is just in two days time and i am really excited. This is going to be a short post because there's really nothing much to say about Chinese New Year....

Here are the things i like during Chinese New Year:

1) The first will be the Ang Baos ( A.K.A $$MONEEEEY$$ :D ), i'm sure most of you will agree to this.   I will always get lots of them from relatives, my aunts, uncles... So when all the values are added up, i got a whole lot of them to deposit into my bank account :)

2) Reunion dinner is the next thing i like about this festive season. Other than the Abalones, steamboat, Yusheng, etc. , I think that reunion dinner is a very good time for the family to get together and bond with each other. Sometimes, we are really busy with work, school and our personal stuff, but during reunion dinner, we are given the opportunity to bond and get together as a family.

3) The last thing will be the holiday break. To be honest, I am pretty stressed because of school. I do have homework for the holidays but at least i have 4 days to do them.

Happy Chinese New Year to all the Chinese! :D 新年快乐,万事如意!

For the non-Chinese, happy holidays! ^^
