Dragon Boating

I went to Marina Reservoir for Dragon Boating two days ago. It was awesome.

It's part of our school's SEP ( Sports Education Programme ) that we have every year and each level participates in different sports at different venues. For Secondary 1, they have inline skating. For Secondary 2 and 4T1, they have Bowling and for us, Sec 3s, we have Dragon boating.

Dragon boating was new to me and so I had no idea how It was going to be like. When I was about to get on the boat, there were a lot of questions running through my mind. How is this going to be like? Am I going to enjoy it? How deep is the water? Will I drown? ( Yea.. I actually thought of that )

Despite the uncertainties, I was also excited to try this " new " thing.

We started learning how to row the boat and did some coordination training at first. I have never rowed a boat before in my entire life before so It felt good when I moved the boat for the first time.

We then do more practices and had races with other boats. It was fun, seeing everyone putting in the effort into moving the boat and wanting to beat the opposing boat. It was a real team spirit. Although our arms were aching, we perservered and kept on rowing.

Guess what? We got to attack other boats as well. I don't know if they really do that in official dragon boating but... we attacked.

How did we attack? Obviously not by banging onto each other and try to put others' lifes in danger, but by splashing water. ( I know, this sounds lame. Blame the instructors not us :P )

We were all wet from head to toe after attacking several times. But again, It was just for fun, nobody got killed, so.. yea.

One of the most enjoyable thing is when we attacked the teachers' boat. Teachers gave us so much homework, scolded us, nagged at us, and that, was our revenge. WUHAHAH xD Our class immediately aimed at our form teacher when we saw her.

So generally, everyone had fun from this activity :) The only unenjoyable part was when they kept us for an hour after we reached back to school. They just gave us a reflection sheet to do and expect us to wait for an hour. It was a waste of time, seriously. Even my form teacher didn't know why we need to be kept in school. So we just slacked in our class, doing our own things, sleeping... And once the bell rings, we called it a day.
