Doctors are some of the most highly respectable and recognised people in society. Reason being that their profession contributes a lot to society and for them to become who they are now, is not easy. They have to go through five years of Medical school and intense medical training in order to become a doctor.
So...When you hear that someone is a Doctor, you immediately look up to the person, don't you? I do.
Once, I went to see a doctor for my scoliosis condition. As the doctor was explaining that my condition was normal and that was a part of growing up, etc., I immediately look up and admire the doctor's knowledge on the medical condition that I have. It's like, Wow! This guy's very knowledgeable and hold a high status in society.
But we often take the rest of the people in the medical field for granted, don't you agree?
For example, Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedics, are often taken for granted and people often take them as just helpers of doctors.
But recently I was thinking about how the medical field will turn out to be like if every one are doctors and NONE are nurses, Pharmacists, etc.
They may not earn as much as doctors and may not hold a status as high as doctors do, but you got to admit, they contribute to the medical field as well.
The job of a nurse for example, Is to take care of the patients, while the job of a Paramedic, is to provide medical support in times of emergency.
I like to call these other people in the medical profession, the " Unsung Heroes ".
