Parents invading into children's privacy ( Handphones )

I sometimes get annoyed when my friends' parents invade their privacy. Not by looking through their Facebook profiles ( there's really nothing wrong with this, parents just wants to get to know their children better ), but by looking through their phones without seeking the their permission.

I think that parents should learn to respect their children's privacy and personal space. You may think, Oh.. They're the parents, they got the rights!

I know that parents have a higher authority as they raised you up, pay for your school fees, bills, internet....

YES I AGREE but sometimes, some parents tend to use their authority as " parents " to sort of enslave their children. They may not mean it, but their children can feel it.

It's like, hey! We're the parents, we have the right to do everything, you don't. OR... We're the parents, so we are always right, you have no rights to correct us, which is obviously not true as everyone has flaws....
I think that these parents should understand their children's feelings when they say these things. Fortunately, I've been blessed with parents who aren't like that :)

okaay... Back to the point... Whew I am getting off track here... o_o

I think that looking through children's handphones is not really very nice. Teenagers especially, feel the need to have personal space and privacy. Looking through his/her phones, checking every single detail, be it their conversations with their friends, photos they took with their friends, who they last called, Whatsapped, SMSed, will make child feel that his/her privacy is not being respected.

Handphones are very personal things. It is not something that is publicised like an advertisement or this blog of mine. I don't mind if people read my blog, it's meant to be read. But handphone is a totally different story.

Imagine if It's the other way around, your boss or parents or someone who have a higher authority are looking through your handphones without your permission. How would u feel?

This is not a hate post or anything. I'm just writing down my thoughts on this. Anyway, that's what a blog is for, to write down your opinions and thoughts and to share them with the world.
